Choosing a Great San Francisco Tour

Peter Moylan amassed an incredible amount of knowledge about the history of San Francisco through years of involvement in local politics, so it was only a matter of time before he became a one-man San Francisco tour machine. Unique storytelling is Moylan's claim to fame, and his humorous thematic approach keeps learning fresh, while you absorb how the city became what it is today.
From a small Native American village to burgeoning metropolis, Moylan starts his tour from St. Francis Hotel, then weaves vibrant tales encapsulating the history of Union Square, Chinatown, Portsmouth Square, Barbary Coast, and finally ends the tour in historic North Beach. After the two and a half hour, 17-block tour, you'll probably have more historical knowledge than most locals, and Moylan will leave you craving more.

Well-researched historical walking tour satisfies sophisticated travelers.

Not your average trolley, this San Francsico tour offers motorized cable cars that traverse the entire city.
Cloaked in the traditional looks of the Powell and California Street Cable Car lines, the open-ended Trolley Hop gives tourists the option to explore on foot, then relax as the driver tackles those famous San Francisco hills. Bench seating faces the sidewalk on either side for terrific photo opportunities, but hop off and it may be standing room only when you return.
With frequent daily departures from Piers 39 and 43 ½, visitors can drive through many of San Francisco's most scenic neighborhoods, such as Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach, Nob Hill, downtown and Chinatown. Tours last about an hour and come complete with a narrator who will share insights about the history of each neighborhood.
