Three people have died after a teen gunman opened fire at a popular shopping centre in Thailand.
Gunshots are believed to have come from a toilet on the ground floor of the busy Siam Paragon mall.
Police have been pictured tackling the alleged gunman – believed to be a minor – to the ground and arresting him. Two people have also been left injured.
Other shoppers are believed to have taken shelter inside other shops inside the building as hundreds fled the scene and warned locals of the incident.
Writing on X/Twitter, one user said: “There’s a shooting incident in Siam Paragon. To anyone going or planning to go there, please avoid it at this moment. Stay safe everyone.”

Thailand’s Prime Minister releases new statement on shooting
Thailand’s Prime Minister has released a new statement about the shooting in Bangkok. Writing on Twitter/X, he said: “I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families of those who died in the shooting incident in the area of Siam Paragon Mall.”I would like to offer my support to the family of the deceased and all those who were injured as well.”Police officers quickly entered the area and I received a report from the Police Commander who was stationed at the scene that the culprit has now been arrested but I still want to ask about security and facilitating people to return home safely as well.”

Photos from just outside the shopping mall show people leaving the scene in droves. Police later arrested a suspect believed to be 14-years-old who allegedly used a handgun in the attack.
