European Commission vice-president Maros Sefcovic insisted the bloc would not walk away from the negotiations despite still having serious concerns over Downing Street’s Internal Market Bill. The U-turn comes after the top eurocrat earlier this month gave Boris Johnson until the end of September to amend or withdraw the legislation if he wanted trade talks to continue. Mr Sefcovic told reporters: “I think it’s very important to say, to underline, that it could never ben the EU which would cause the end of the negotiations on the future partnership between the EU and UK.”
