Rees-Mogg and Dorries set to be named in new kangaroo court report

Jacob Rees-Mogg on Boris report

Boris Johnson’s allies who criticised the Privileges Committee’s probe are set to be named in a fresh report tomorrow.

Conservative MPs and a peer who branded the investigation a “kangaroo court” are likely to be referenced.

Loyalists Nadine Dorries, Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg and Lord Cruddas are expected to be among the names.

The committee earlier this month concluded the ex-prime minister committee “repeated contempts” of Parliament by misleading MPs with his partygate denials.

The findings prompted Mr Johnson to sensationally quit the Commons as he launched a blistering attack on the cross-party group of MPs.

The committee, led by Labour grandee Harriet Harman, has been working on a follow-up piece for several weeks.

It will raise issues encountered by the group, including whether statements by Mr Johnson’s supporters could amount to further breaches of parliamentary rules.
