June Mummery, a former Brexit Party MEP, has unleashed a scathing attack on Boris Johnson’s Brexit negotiating team, describing the fishing terms outlined in the deal as the biggest failure of the agreement. Ms Mummery outlined a lack of preparation and misinformation as contributing factors to the poor terms for Britain’s fishing industry.
Ms Mummery said: “They are never going to get anywhere.
“This is the biggest failure they have done.
“Looking back now, they were unprepared, I knew it.
“Even the last two weeks before we were leaving I thought this is going to collapse because we had not heard anything.
“The [fishing] industry had not heard about exporting.
“The reason they agreed with this awful deal was because they were unprepared and Boris was being fed lots of misinformation.”
Earlier this year, the former MEP stated that Boris Johnson “sacrificed” the UK’s fishing industry and coastal communities to get Brexit done.
Ms Mummery told Express.co.uk that the post-Brexit free trade agreement Bors Johnson agreed with the European Union, “gave everything away” on fishing.

The former Brexit Party spokesperson on fishing also lambasted the UK’s failure to secure the 12 miles of “territorial waters” for Britain’s fishing sector.
Ms Mummery said: “Boris has sacrificed the fishing industry, coastal communities and our friends in Northern Ireland to get Brexit done.
“I expected that we would concede a bit, possibly they could carry on fishing sustainably, banning super trawlers, all these different things.
“But no way did I expect for us to give everything away.

“The Government didn’t even manage to secure the six to 12 mile, our territorial waters.
“They did not even negotiate that so to me, I don’t think the negotiations were good.
“I think David Frost all in all was good but at the end of the day, he used us to get Brexit done.”
The UK agreed to the post-Brexit trade agreement with the European Union on Christmas Eve 2020.
