Arvada police arrested a 31-year-old man for investigation of first-degree murder in connection with a body found Sunday in Silver Plume.
Tyler Condit was arrested and booked at Jefferson County Jail, Arvada police said in a news release.
On Aug. 29, police responded to a residence in the 6000 block of Simms Street after friends said they had not heard from Joseph Elsey in five days, according to the news release.
Once inside, police saw a “large amount of evidence to indicate a violent act had occurred,” authorities said.
The investigation led police to Silver Plume on Sunday, where they located Elsey’s body in the 700 block of Silver Valley Road, police said.
The First Judicial District Attorney is expected to file formal charges against Condit this week.
