Auckland traffic: Child struck by car in Remuera, taken to hospital

A child is seriously injured after being struck by a car in central Auckland this morning.

St John Ambulance says a pedestrian was struck in Remuera at 7.50am.

Two vehicles attended the incident. One patient was taken to Auckland’s Starship Hospital in a serious condition and a second person was treated at the scene.

Ascot Ave was briefly closed between Remuera Rd and Green Lane East.

One lane of the road remains closed and motorists were warned to expect delays during rush hour.

The Serious Crash Unit was attending the accident, a police spokesperson said.
