An early Tuesday morning shootout between a suspect and Aurora police ended with the suspect in custody.
According to the police’s Twitter account, officers and a SWAT team arrived at the 4200 block of Salida Way to apprehend a suspect on felony charges. The suspect fired several shots at police from the home, and a shelter-in-place was issued, officers said.
Thirty minutes after the police’s initial tweet, officers announced that the suspect was in custody and lifted the order. No officers or civilians were injured, but police acknowledged that it was a police-involved shooting.
As officers investigated the scene, they found a suspicious device inside the home and placed the neighborhood in another shelter-in-place, police said. A bomb squad later determined the device was safe.
