Princess Beatrice has no recollection of the party at Pizza Express and whether Prince Andrew was there on the night he was accused of having sex with Jeffrey Epstein's sex slave, it is has been claimed.

Andrew famously said he was at the Woking branch in a disastrous BBC interview last year.

It has created questions about his alibi for the allegation from Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she had sex with him at the home of Ghislaine Maxwell in 2001 after being trafficked by Epstein, who Andrew was friends with.

During the BBC interview, he claimed Ms Giuffre’s story couldn't be true.

He said this is because he was at a birthday bash for his daughter in the Surrey commuter town on March 10, 2001.

But the princess has "absolutely no recollection" of the event, according to a source who spoke to a Daily Mail investigation.

Aides said he had a manicure booked at home that afternoon, the newspaper reported.

The family who hosted the party for Beatrice reportedly say they do not remember whether Andrew was there, as he claims.

Ms Giuffre – who was 17 at the time – claims she partied with the Duke of York at the nightclub Tramp in the West End of London that night.

She alleges they then went back to Ms Maxwell's home.

Ms Giuffre has claimed she was trafficked to London by paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein when she was 17-years-old.

A photo, which is thought to have been taken at around the same time, shows Andrew with his arms around Ms Giuffre, whose name was Virginia Roberts in 2001.

She has claimed she was pressured into having sex with friends of Epstein, who was Andrew’s chum.

At the time, British socialite Maxwell – who is currently facing trial in the US in connection with her role in the scandal – was Epstein's girlfriend.

During the weekend in question, Andrew reportedly had one police protection officer on duty – but the officer has since died.

Members of the Duke's staff say they do not recall his movements that weekend, the Mail reports.

Ms Giuffre alleges she had sex with Andrew on three occasions – once in London, once in New York and in the Caribbean.

During a BBC Newsnight interview in November 2019, Andrew gave an alibi.

He claimed he had taken Beatrice – then 12, five years younger than his accuser – to a Pizza Express in Woking, Surrey, for a party.

Challenged by Emily Maitlis how he remembered so precisely, he responded: "Because going to Pizza Express in Woking is an unusual thing for me to do.

"I've only been to Woking a couple of times and I remember it weirdly distinctly.

"As soon as someone reminded me of it, I went: 'Oh yes, I remember that.’”

The interview was widely considered a car crash.

It led to him being forced to step back from frontline royal duties.

He has since resisted calls by investigators to get on a plane to the US and has reportedly offered to make a written statement.

US prosecutor Geoffrey Berman claimed Andrew has "repeatedly declined" to be interviewed, despite fresh calls to do so following Maxwell's arrest in July.

The Daily Star has contacted Andrew’s representatives.

A spokesman for the Duke told the Mail: "It would not be appropriate to comment on any of these matters."
