A 'beautiful' 22-year-old who was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend nearly twice her age was planning on ending their relationship.

Maddie Durdant-Hollamby and Ben Green, 41, were both found dead last Friday, August 27, at their home in Kettering, Northamptonshire, after her parents told police that they hadn't heard from her in several days.

Police suspect that Green killed Maddie before taking his own life.

It is being treated as a murder but they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Maddie typically divided her time between her parents' luxury house in Wimblington, Cambridgeshire, and Kettering with Green.

It is understood that her parents had concerns over her relationship with someone so old, and Maddie had been spending less and less time with them.

A friend of her dad, Steve Durdant-Hollamby, told MailOnline that: "Steve told us that Maddie wasn't that happy with Ben and had spoken about ending the relationship.

"He was almost as old as Steve and Rachel and had three kids from a previous marriage and this concerned them.

"Any parent would be worried if their 22-year-old daughter came home with a man like this.

"Steve and Rachel are only in their 40s and so was Ben so I can understand their concerns."

Another of her parents' friends added: "Maddie was a lovely girl, really charming and beautiful who had a lot of love for her parents.

"They were very concerned about the age gap between her and her boyfriend and from what we'd heard, she was having second thoughts about their future together."

Green and Maddie met while working at water management company Alumasc, where her father used to be Managing Director. They were in a relationship for over a year.

The Durdant-Hollambys released a statement that said: "'Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to imagine life without her. The shock and pain we are feeling is indescribable.

"She was a beautiful person both inside and out, who loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends.

"Maddie was a kind, caring, thoughtful young woman, who touched the lives of everyone she met. A talented dancer, her creative talent continued through school and into her career in marketing. Her life has been sadly cut short just as her career was blossoming."

Northampton Police have said that they named Green with the support of his family despite not yet formally identifying him.

They have said they are "working to establish as much as is possible about the circumstances in which they died".

Green family also released a statement that read: "Following the sad death of our beloved Ben, we would like to make the following statement.

"Ben was an extremely loving father to three extraordinary young children and was a beloved partner to his ex-wife. He was also a loving son, brother, uncle, and nephew.

"There are no words to describe the extremely sad circumstance of this tragic incident and our thoughts and prayers are with Maddie's family, loved ones and friends."
