A mother reportedly screamed "where's my bible?!" after she was arrested when her three children were found dead inside their home in Los Angeles on Mother's Day.
The children, aged between eight and 12, were found dead at the scene by Los Angeles fire department crews before the mother was arrested.
The night before, the woman was reportedly heard shouting: "My family is abusing me!".
She was spotted in next-door neighbour's garden with lit candles and an open bible, apparently in a solo religious ceremony, according to locals.
Paramedics got there at around midnight and put her on a stretcher, according to reports. A neighbour said the woman tried to free herself and screamed: "Where's my Bible?"
“No other suspects are being sought at the moment,” LAPD public information officer Matthew Cruz said.
The mother was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation and was later taken into custody by the LAPD.
Prisila Canales, one of the neighbours, told Los Angeles Times that she heard the mother screaming “My family is abusing me” at around 10.30pm night on Saturday.

She said the woman moved into the neighbourhood between two and three months ago.
“The screaming you heard; you knew she was not OK,” Ms Canales said. “I can still hear her screaming.”
Another neighbour, John, who declined to give his full name, said he heard muffled cries a night earlier. He said: “I thought I was just dreaming."
