A teenager found dead inside his grandmother’s freezer may have climbed inside to cool down, according to police.
The body of Jose Eduardo Rosa, 15, was discovered inside the unit in Campo Grande, Brazil.
He is believed to have died from a sudden illness, possibly resulting from the use of anabolic steroids and asphyxiation.
The teen’s body was found wearing only underpants.
Police have ruled out the possibility of murder and suicide, although the exact cause of his death on January 11 is not clear.
Officers claim he got in the freezer when the house was empty, after letting himself in using a hidden key.
The discovery was made by the teen’s older brother.
A number of chairs were found placed in a circle in the garden of the property in the neighbourhood of Vila Adelina, suggesting he had not been alone.
His death was particularly tragic for his family, as it came one week after his uncle died and a month after his grandfather lost his life.
