Brit sent flying into air as hes mown down in horror Thailand hit and run

A British pensioner was left lifeless in the middle of a Thai road after a horror hit-and-run incident.

Peter Palmer, 74, was struck while he was going over a zebra crossing on Jomtien Sai Song Road in Pattaya, Thailand.

But tragedy struck when a driver decided to ignore the red light in front of him and ploughed straight into the bloke at 11am.

A witness told local news outlets that they saw the man's body flying “up in the air” before landing on the road.

The driver failed to stop, and drove away “as if nothing had happened”.

Thankfully, Mr Palmer survived, and was treated in a local hospital after being given treatment at the scene.

He was taken there by a local person, and was given four stitches for a huge head wound – he has also been left with pain in his hip and is waiting for x-ray results.

But now he is appealing to Thai media to help find the driver, who was driving a white Zisuzu D-Max pickup truck when he ignored the red light.

He said: “If the pickup driver sees me on the news, I would like to tell him to surrender himself and take care of me.

“Both motorists and pedestrians should be more careful when using roads for the safety of everybody.”

Security footage from the scene has been handed to Mueng Pattaya Police Station, and a police report has been filed.

No comment has been made by local police, and the search for the driver is ongoing – CCTV images have also gone viral on Thai social media apps.

If the man is found, the Land Traffic Act of Thailand could see him facing anywhere from three to six months in prison, as well as a fine of around £5,000.
