The brother of Liverpool's Mayor has died from the coronavirus just hours after he asked the public to stick to the new guidelines.
Joe Anderson made the tragic announcement this morning on Twitter.
In the Tweet, Mayor Anderson said his brother had died at 10.45pm on Friday October 16 at hospital in Liverpool.
He thanked "dedicated staff" risking their lives to fight Covid-19 and told the public to "stick together and support each other" to win the battle against the virus.
Liverpool Hospitals responded to the Mayor's tweet and sent their condolences to his family while thanking him for his "kind words and continued support."
