More than 19 people are known to have died after a gunman, dressed as a police officer, opened fire in several locations.
Police in Canada said there are “in excess of 19 victims” made up of both men and women, and that they expect the death toll to rise.
Some of the victims were known to the gunman.
There are 16 crime scenes around central and northern Nova Scotia, and some of those have been fire damaged. The police are unsure whether they have recovered all of the bodies.
