Centre Parcs closes ALL UK sites over coronavirus pandemic

Centre Parcs has said that it will be following government advice and closing all its UK holiday villages from Friday in a bid to quell the spread of coronavirus.

In a statement on the company's website, it announced the temporary closure.

A statement read: "In light of the latest government announcement regarding coronavirus, the decision has been taken to close all of our UK villages from 20th March to 16th April 2020.

"The safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff is our absolute priority and we feel that this decision supports government recommendations.

"If you are due to visit during the above closure period we unfortunately have no option but to cancel your break. We are in the process of sending all guests impacted by this situation an email and text message."

The company has asked that worried customers do not attempt to make contact themselves.

The statement added: "Our Contact Centre team are inundated with calls and we would ask that you wait for us to contact you, rather than calling us directly.

"If you are on a break in the future and currently not impacted by the closure dates, please do not call our Contact Centre to allow us to deal with guests with imminent breaks. We are planning to be open 17th April 2020 to welcome our guests.

"However, please keep a close eye on our website.

"We recognise that this will be disappointing news and we would like to thank you for your patience and understanding in these exceptional circumstances."
