Fort Collins police declared an accident alert, encouraging online self-reporting where appropriate.
Police advised caution and urged drivers to slow down, especially in the northern mountain foothills and along I-25, where accidents led to several lane closures early Tuesday. Shortly after 9 a.m, the Colorado Department of Transportation reported the following highway closures:
— Eastbound Interstate 76 between Exit 64 and U.S. Highway 6 and the intersection near Wiggins and Colorado Highway 39.
The snow is also causing delays and cancellations at Denver International Airport.
