The French First Lady will be self-isolating after being in contact with a person earlier this month but has not displayed any symptoms of the respiratory disease. This comes after President Emmanuel Macron declares a state of emergency in France.
France has one of the highest number of infections as cases continue to rise across the country.
To date, there have been more than 800,000 new daily positive test results while the death figure has reached 33,392.
Last week, Mr Macron imposed strict curfews on Ile-de-France, Grenoble, Lille, Lyon, Aix-Marseille, Saint Etienne and Toulouse.
During the curfew, people will not be allowed to leave their homes to go to restaurants or visit friends.
However, there are no restrictions on public transport or people travelling between regions.
Announcing the measures, Mr Macron said: “The message I want to send this evening is that I need each of you, we need each other, to find solutions.
“We will come out of this stronger, because we will be more united.
“We will get through this, together.”
He added if anyone breaks the 9pm to 6am curfew rules they would be fined €135 (£122).
During the pandemic, Mr Macron and his government have been widely criticised for his handling of the virus.
Back in May, an opinion poll found only two-thirds of French people felt their government was handling the pandemic well.
And last month, another poll found 62 percent of people in France did not have faith in Mr Macron and his government to fight against the virus.
At the start of the pandemic, French officials repeatedly told the public wearing masks was not necessary.
