A bloke captured the skin-crawling moment a giant exotic spider was discovered on a busy road outside of a pub on video – it was so big he thought it was a crab.
Alex McLeod couldn't believe his eyes when he spotted the creepy-crawly on Victoria Road in Govanhill, Southside, when he was heading to the pub on Saturday night (July 23).
The 26-year-old said the creature appeared to be yellow and black and looked to be struggling to move, with two missing legs.

At a glance, Alex thought it could have been a crab – but upon closer inspection, he realised it was definitely of the arachnid variety.
Alex told Glasgow Live: "We were walking to the pub when I spotted it from the corner of my eye and had to do a double take. It's not what you want to see after a couple of Aperols.
"At first, I thought it was a crab but a few other passers-by agreed that it was definitely a spider. We think it was probably dead but it did seem to be moving a little bit but that could have just been the wind."
The Scottish SPCA was unable to confirm what species of spider it was but urged anyone who comes across a spider that they believe to be an escaped pet or exotic species to contact their helpline.
Scottish SPCA chief superintendent Mike Flynn said: “If anyone comes across a spider that they are concerned is an escaped pet or an exotic species they should call our animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”

The news comes after a man and his family are living with a giant spider in his house and hopes to see his creepy-crawly housemate get even bigger.
Facebook commenters have been asking whether Jake Gray’s “pet” spider, named Charlotte, is real and whether he plans to burn his house down to eliminate the hand-sized beast.
Jake assured followers that she was absolutely genuine and he was very happy to have her in his house.
