Gushing Prince Harry fans brand him a ‘true American’ after Vax Live speech

Prince Harry has been hailed as a "true American" by smitten fans after he and his wife Meghan Markle campaigned for Vax Live.

The Duke of Sussex was received with a standing ovation at the concert on Monday (May 3) as he and other celebrities demanded coronavirus vaccines be shared equally across the world.

In his speech, he said: "Over the last year, everyone has experienced so much loss and so much struggle and I think the only way that we are really going to heal and recover is to do that together.

"So many things have been politicised over the years but when we're talking about life and death — which is what we're talking about now — vaccines cannot be politicised.

"Being able to come together as humans, as people, is how we're going to get ourselves out of this and we must ensure that everyone around the world has equal access to the vaccine, otherwise none of this works."

He continued: "None of us should be comfortable with thinking we can be fine when so many others are suffering.

"We must look beyond ourselves, with empathy and compassion for those we know, and those we don’t."

Not only was the speech given a rapturous applause at the live concert, but his adoring fans in the US sand his praises on social media.

One commented: "I love Harry! He rejected the monarchy! He’s a true American!"

Another person wrote: "He is now 100% American, even the accent has changed."

Someone else said: "It’s official. America has adopted Prince Harry. Sticking it to the monarchy is the American way."

A fourth chipped in: "One love, one world. Thank you for embracing US. Best wishes to all of your next chapters."

But a critic moaned: "The virtue signalling is so intense."

This comes after Meghan Markle showed off her growing baby bump as she discussed the future world she wants for her daughter in her latest TV appearance.

She said: "My husband and I are thrilled to soon be welcoming a daughter.

“It's a feeling of joy we share with millions of other families around the world."
