A 17-year-old girl who was killed in a hit-and-run crash has been named by police as tributes pour in for the "kind-hearted" teenager.
Keely Birks was tragically killed after being hit by a Vauxhall Astra at around 8pm on Harvey Road, in Allenton on Saturday evening.
According to a fundraising page, Keely was crossing the road at a set of traffic lights with her friend, when she was hit by a "reckless driver" who was reportedly speeding at the time of the incident.
More than a hundred people gathered at the crash site to pay tribute with a heartfelt vigil on Sunday evening, reports DerbyshireLive.
Police have confirmed they are looking for the driver but believe they have retrieved the suspect's vehicle.
A statement issued by Derbyshire Police said: "A teenage girl who died in a collision in Harvey Road last night has been named as Keely Birks.
"The 17-year-old was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra at about 8pm and sadly died a short time later.
"Her family and friends are being given specialist support by our officers.
"Our investigation into the circumstances is ongoing but we can confirm that we have recovered the vehicle believed to be involved."

They added: "Detectives from the force’s specialist collision investigation unit are now wanting to hear from any witnesses who may be able to assist them – in particular, any drivers with dashcam footage that may hold vital evidence."
People have taken to social media to pay tribute to the teenager.
Family member Shannon McKenna said: "Yesterday the most beautiful precious angel was taken far too soon. Forever 17.
"She was loved by so many people and known by everyone, it is a massive shock to everyone and you really don’t know what’s around the corner.
"The family would like to gather together to remember Keely for the beautiful, young, funny soul she was."

Her sister Kisha Louise Birks, wrote on Facebook: "Forever my sister now my angel. I love you forever and always."
The GoFundMe page, which is believed to have been set up by her auntie Zoe Broughton, described Keely as a "beautiful young person who was liked and loved by so many".
It read: "Losing a loved one is hard enough but Keely was a 17-year-old girl, who had the rest of her life to live but was cut short by a careless thug.
"The family are so grateful for the kind words and support that has been received within the last 24 hours."
