A massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake has sparked tsunami fears in Japan after a quake struck off the coast of Miyagi Prefecture.
Japan's meteorological agency issued a tsunami warning on Saturday March 20 after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck at around 6.09pm.
The country’s prime minister, Yoshihide Suga, has called for a crisis meeting at his official residence in Tokyo in response to the quake.
All transportation, including Tokyo’s metropolitan train network, has been halted and people have been urged not to travel.
