Kate admits she didnt take Charlotte to Wimbledon as its Georges treat

Kate Middleton has explained why her and Prince William chose not to bring Princess Charlotte to the men’s Wimbledon final as the occasion was booked in as Prince George’s special “treat”.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took to the royal box with just one of their three royal kids to watch Nick Kyrgios take on Novak Djokovic in a bid to be crowned champion.

Keen tennis fan Kate is now patron of the All England Club after taking the role from the Queen.

She is expected to present the prestigious trophy to the winner in a post-match ceremony.

When questioned as to why only George would be watching on, the Duchess told reporters: “It's George's treat today."

The 8-year-old, who is the eldest of the Cambridge’s children and third in line to the throne, was then asked by reporters who he would be supporting.

But the youngster appeared too shy to answer and looked up to his dad for help, before Prince William whispered "Djokovic" and joked: "We'll see how long it lasts.

“He'll support the winner."

The Cambridges have made frequent appearances during the Wimbledon 2022 tournament and they were previously spotted passionately cheering on British star Cameron Norrie.

It became so heated that Prince William was caught in a foul-mouthed outburst as eagle-eyed royal fans saw him “drop an F-bomb”.

The future King was seen seemingly muttering "no, no, no, f**k it" during the quarter final on Tuesday (July 5).

But in the presence of his young son he is likely to hold back on the swearing and take the classy approach that Kate was praised for during a previous appearance.

The Duchess was lavished for wowing fans in a bright yellow dress with short sleeves and a billowing skirt.

She also made a sweet nod to Prince George’s grandma the Queen as she proudly donned a green and purple bow gifted from Her Majesty as a sign of royal patronage.
