The brotherly relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William has broken down completely, and – according to one royal expert – despite Kate Middleton’s best efforts there’s nothing more to be done.
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, and one of the most prominent and respected writers on the royal family, says that "despite appearing to do so, the two boys never got along particularly well.
“They sat together for TV interviews on their joint causes joshing with each other but they were never very good friends.

"Kate went a long way to encourage their relationship and although William has always looked out for Harry, he feels at the moment there is nothing more he can do”.
Ingrid says that the Duchess of Cambridge, encouraged the brothers to reconcile their differences and make up but the pair remain distant.
“Instead,” Ingrid told the Mirror, “[William] is concentrating on what he knows he can achieve rather than wasting time on things he can’t change.
"He knows what’s in store for him and he knows how tough it is but with the help of Kate and support from his father the Prince of Wales, he remains positive and optimistic about his future."
Relations between William and Harry are at “rock bottom” according a source close to the Cambridges.
“[William] alternates between grieving for what he has lost and feeling really, really angry about what his brother has done,” the source told the Daily Mail.

“He truly loves Harry and feels he has lost the only person, aside from his wife, who understood this strange life of theirs,” they added.
“But he believes there are things you just don't do. And Harry has 100% crossed that line”.
Before they can be reconciled, one of them would need to admit they were in the wrong, added the source, “and it's pretty obvious that one of them is absolutely refusing to do that”.
“'William is absolutely allergic to drama,” they concluded, “but Harry has ensured that the family laundry is being aired on a global scale”.
