A block of flats in London has been evacuated with police swooping on the scene, according to witnesses.

A woman, Shanelle, who shot footage in the area, said the whole block of flats was woken by police.

It was also evacuated, she said.

Shanelle tweeted: "A block-wide evacuation has just taken place in Hackney on Dalston Lane.

"The whole block was awoken by police banging at 2:15 this morning."

She added police were responding to an "incident".

Jambuster, a service for motorists needing traffic information, also confirmed the area had been closed off.

A tweet read: "(A104) Dalston Lane (Both Directions) at the junction of Pembury Road. Road closed in both directions due to an incident.

"Use other route. No reported delays."
