A 22-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Elle Edwards that occurred on Christmas Eve.
Connor Chapman of Houghton Road, Woodchurch, Merseyside, has been faced with a litany of charges as he faces two counts of attempted murder, three counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He's also been hit with further charges of being in possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life and handling stolen goods.
Merseyside Police have confirmed that Chapman has been remanded in custody as he is scheduled to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court later today (January 13), as the investigation continues.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Detectives investigating the murder of Elle Edwards in Wallasey on Christmas Eve have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
"Following enquiries in mid-Wales, a 22-year-old man from Wirral was arrested on suspicion of murder.
"A 23-year-old woman also from Wirral was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both have been taken to police stations for questioning."
The 26-year-old beautician Ms Edwards was tragically killed on December 24 in a pub in Wallasey, Merseyside, and her untimely passing was met with a sea of tributes from family and friends who paid their respects to her life.
Elle was described as "beautiful inside and out" by her sister Lucy in an emotional Instagram post on New Year's Day, just a week after her sister was killed.
She wrote: "I miss you so much sis. Elle May…you are and will always be my best friend, side kick, partner in crime, soul mate and big sister.
"You are beautiful inside and out, you are the kindest person ever and you wanted nothing but the best for me.
"I miss everything about you, especially our daily catch ups, our long drives, we’d blast the music and sing so loud that people in traffic would be laughing at us, but we were always in our own bubble and we didn’t care, and I will miss travelling and seeing new places with you.
"I should not be waking up this morning on New Year’s Day without you, we should be dancing and singing this morning whilst we got ready to go out."
