Man wielding blade tries to stab police officer in Paris day after Nice terror

A suspect wielding a knife has reportedly tried to attack a police officer in Paris in the latest act of violence in France.

The man was arrested following the attempted stabbing in the 15th Arrondissement of the city.

Sharing a video of the aftermath on Twitter, French freelance journalist Clément Lanot wrote: "Paris – an attempted police knife attack in the 15th arrondissement.

"Attacker neutralised. No injuries."

He also said serious crimes police officers and soldiers were on the scene.

Later, he shared a clip of troops at the scene of the incident.

He tweeted: "The district is cordoned off by the police. The police initially intervened on a different neighbourhood.

"There are no injuries."

France is currently on high alert following a serious of terror attacks across the country in recent weeks.

The latest incident comes a day after three people were killed in a knife attack in a cathedral in Nice in the south of France.
