Prince Harry and Meghan Markle fans have praised their daughter’s “gorgeous” name and the way they’ve “honoured two amazing women”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussexannounced that Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor had been born on Friday, June 4in a recent statement.
Lilibet is the Queen’s favourite nickname, and the child’s middle name is a tribute to Harry’s mum Princess Diana.
Royal watchers were delighted with the news and the couple’s thoughtful selection.
One tweeted: “What a beautiful name. Honoring two amazing women! You are truly blessed.”
Another said: "Congratulations to another grandchild. Wonderful news and gorgeous name for Lili.”
A third added: “What a fantastic way of paying tribute to the British monarchy, a very royal name indeed!”
Lilibet was born at 11.40am on Friday "in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California".
She weighed 7lbs 11oz (3.5kg) and she and Meghan are said to be "healthy and well, and settling in at home".
The Queen started using Lilibet when she was a toddler and struggling to pronounce her own name properly.

Her granddad, King George V, imitated her attempts and the nickname ended up sticking.
Lilibet is the Queen’s 11th great-grandchild and eighth in line to the throne, moving Prince Andrew down to ninth.
On Sunday, June 6, the couple announced her arrival with the statement: “On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili.
“She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe.
“Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.”
Buckingham Palace said in a statement: "The Queen, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed and are delighted with the news."
Last month, Harry said he wanted to “break the cycle” of his royal upbringing for his children.

Appearing on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, which was released on Thursday, Harry revealed that he doesn’t intend to follow in his dadPrince Charles’footsteps, or mimic the way the Queen andPrince Philipraised Charles.
"Isn’t life about breaking the cycle?" he asked during the episode.
"There’s no blame," Harry was quick to add. "I don’t think anyone should be pointing the finger and blaming anyone.
"Certainly, when it comes to parenting, if I’ve experienced some form of pain and suffering because of the pain and suffering that perhaps my father or parents suffered, I’m gonna make sure I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on."
