A young man gunned down in Birmingham was reportedly just "one street away" from home when he was murdered.
The man, who was reportedly 26-year-old, was found fatally injured in Bagshaw Road in the Stechford area of the city after shots were fired on Friday night, August 28th.
A local, who did not want to be named, told Birmingham Live, he heard "six shots" go off during the attack and "a swarm of the boys family and his wife were all crying."
He said a "white sheet was put over the deceased" and after his body was taken a "high presence of armed/marked police" remained on the street.
They went on: "A 26-year-old male who lived just one road away was shot dead. Apparently there were six shots fired.
"The family all turned up after hearing the news and a swarm of boys family cousins and his wife were all crying and standing outside the family house.
"A white sheet was put over the deceased and his body was taken at around 9:45/10pm. There was and still is high presence of armed/marked police and plain-clothed officers."
Another resident, who did not wish to be named, spoke of his shock over fatal gunfire in an area which he says has never suffered a shooting before.
He said: "We have had issues and the odd knife incident before but never a shooting. It is worrying but it's a trend that is sadly becoming more and more common.
"It's just shocking that life seems so cheap these days. You hear about shootings or stabbings on a daily basis around the country but when it comes on your doorstep it's a little bit different.
"Police were asking for all the information, we didn't even hear it, we thought it must have been fireworks because there are loads going off all the time.
"There isn't a day that goes by that you don't hear fireworks."
