Nova Scotia has activated its emergency alert system as police respond to multiple unconfirmed reports of shots fired in the HRM.
The alert said police are on scene in a wooded area between Haliburton Hills and the Highland Park Heights Suburb in Hammonds Plains as well as in the Omega Court area of Hubley, N.S.
Global News has confirmed that several police vehicles are on Leeward Avenue in Hammonds Plains.
Details are limited at this time.
Halifax Regional Police say they are also responding to a weapons complaint in Dartmouth.
Police say there is no threat to the public and that officers are on scene at 30 Lamont Terrace.
The emergency alert asked residents in the area to shelter in place and refrain from travel “until being advised otherwise.”
