A prediction from the great astrologer Michel de Nostradame has been interpreted to say King Charles III could abdicate and a new ‘mystery’ king take the throne in his place.
Now, with just 10 days to go before the eagerly-anticipated coronation on May 6 the interpretation from leading expert Author Mario Reading remains in play.
According to the musings of the iconic 16th-century astrologer – if interpreted in Reading's way – could mean that Charles’s divorce from Princess Diana could bring widespread disapproval from the masses.

This in turn could mean that the new King could be forced to abdicate.
Mario Reading’s book, from 2005, reinterprets the readings of Nostradamus from almost 450 years ago.
It says the 1555 prophetic poems predict "a man who never expected to become king" taking to the throne.
Some have since claimed that this could be in reference to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, who is due to be in attendance at the coronation of the King after much uncertainty.
Harry and his wife Meghan received invites to the coronation but didn’t RSVP for some time, leading to wild speculation about what the plan was.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has decided to stay at their US-based home in Montecito, California.
Reading used the poems to predict the death of the Queen last autumn in 2022.
The author said: “The preamble is that Queen Elizabeth II will die, circa 2022, at the age of around ninety-six, five years short of her mother’s term of life.”
Reading adds: “Prince Charles will be seventy-four years old in 2022, when he takes over the throne, but the resentments held against him by a certain proportion of the British population, following his divorce from Diana, Princess of Wales, still persist.”
He speculated that the advanced age of King Charles could mean it won’t be long before he hands over to William, but released another interpretation a year later.
In a revised reading in 2006, he looked once again at the Nostradamus line: “A man will replace him who never expected to be king”.
Reading speculated: “Does that mean that Prince William, who would have expected to succeed his father, is no longer in the picture?”
He added this could mean that for some unknown reason were William unable to take the throne, “that Prince Harry, by process of default, becomes king in his stead? That would make him King Henry IX, aged just 38.”
