Parents have split opinions after leaving a note on a bench reserving it for their child’s birthday party.
Some have been impressed by the demonstration of commitment, while others felt the note was passive-aggressive and entitled.
Despite the row, the benches sat unused for six hours, a section of the park cordoned off theMirrorreports.

The note said: "Reserved for a birthday party. Please respect the space we've set aside and do not use our tables.
"This is for a four-year-old's party, don't be the one to mess it up, thank-you."
As is often the case, an image of the note found its way to the wonderful world of Reddit, where the debate was sparked – nobody, it’s understood, ‘messed it up.’
Taking to the site, the parkgoer who saw the note said: "Busy public park on a hot Saturday/Labor Day weekend. Seems super entitled. Park has been open for four hours and no sign of them. All the other tables are full."
They claimed that the party turned into a proper knees-up when adults showed up, building into a raging do with portable speakers.
The poster added: "The rangers had to come and have a very long chat with them, after that they settled down”.
In general, the internet wasn’t overly supportive of the bench savers.

One user said: "Bin the note. They can't prove it wasn't there when you sat down."
A second added: "The fact that the note was written aggressively while also depending on other people’s decency to allow them to bend common courtesy that I found annoying. Its rude and mannerless."
Another joined: "I really want to be on their side because I know even when you reserve tables at the park, sometimes people refuse to move, but without a time on the note, the note is just useless."
A fourth chipped in: "If you want to hold the table you need to station someone there to wait all day, otherwise it's first come first served."
There are two sides to everything though, one kind soul chipped in: "They're just trying to make sure their kid had a good day,"
