Royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliams, said Prince Harry was “unwise” to speak so openly and not ask his staff to verify the call. The fifth-in-line to the throne spoke openly about the Queen stripping him off his royal title, Megxit and world leaders not doing enough to tackle climate change. He unwittingly was talking to the Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, who posed as Swedish climate change activist Greta Thunberg and her father.
Mr Fitzwilliams told MailOnline: “It was clearly very unwise to speak so openly about sensitive issues, not once but twice.
“It would only have been sensible to have had his staff verify who was calling and asking so many questions, the invention of Greta’s father indicates that these are skilled hoaxers who have fooled several celebrity victims.
“Harry has an open nature and he is in a vulnerable period where he has jettisoned the values he has been brought up with.
“He says it is ‘to protect my son’ and there is no doubt that the revelations that he and the rest of the royals family see things differently is abundantly clear.
“We know Harry admires Greta Thunberg as he praised her at the Royal Albert Hall at the OnSide awards ceremony in November 2019 though I don’t think they have met.
“This hoax will make him look extremely foolish.”
In an audio clip of the fake call, Prince Harry said: “Because of a technicality within the family, if we are earning money separately from within the family structure, then we obviously have been asked not to use our titles in order to make money, which we would never do.”

The Duke also allegedly told how he and his wife Meghan were finding normal life “much better” than royal life after their shock move to Canada.
He said: “Sometimes the right decision isn’t always the easy one.
“And this decision certainly wasn’t the easy one but it was the right decision for our family, the right decision to be able to protect my son.
“And I think there’s a hell of a lot of people around the world that can identify and respect us for putting our family first.”

With regards to climate change, Prince Harry said: “I think the mere fact that Donald Trump is pushing the coal industry so big in America, he has blood on his hands.
“Because the effect that that has on the climate and the island nations far, far away – again out of sight, out of mind.”
The Duke reportedly took the calls on New Year’s Eve and January 22 when he was staying in Vancouver Island in Canada.
The Russian pranksters have also duped Elton John, Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the US Democrat Bernie Sanders in the past.
