A beaming Princess Charlotte has been pictured smiling next to the Cambridge family dog, Orla, in a series of cute snaps released by Kate and Wills.
The Duchess took the adorable photos herself to celebrate the young royal’s seventh birthday.
It marks the first official picture of the new royal canine and is a cute nod to the princesses’ uncle, James Middleton, who gifted the pet in 2020.
Young Charlotte can be seen embracing the three-year-old cocker spaniel and wearing a blue jumper that matches the colour of the flowers around her.
Prince William and Kate said they were “delighted” to share the personal family photos of their middle child, in what is fast becoming a family tradition.
The Duchess of Cambridge is a talented photographer with an honorary membership to the Royal Photographic Society.
She has released photos of Charlotte for her birthday in the past, including a heart-warming snap for her fifth that showed the princess alongside her brothers and parents delivering meals for people in need in Norfolk.
In 2021, the picture was more relaxed and Charlotte was shown grinning in a floral dress.
Although the most recent images of the Cambridge family dog are the first released of Orla, it isn’t the first time the family has welcomed a pooch.
They previously cared for a hound named Lupo, who was also gifted by Kate’s brother, James.
He gave the couple the precious hound as a wedding present, before he sadly passed away in November 2020.
Lupo’s passing triggered an uncharacteristically emotional post on the Cambridge’s official Instagram account.
"Lupo has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him so much," they gushed.

Charlotte, who has clearly welcomed the latest pooch, has been seen in public twice recently.
She visited St George's Chapel in Windsor on April 17 alongside with her parents and brother Prince George.
While earlier in the year she paid her respects at the Duke of Edinburgh's memorial service in her first outing at a major church event.
