A prison warden has packed in her job so she can keep dating her boyfriend – a convicted killer.
Andrea Ferreyra, 35, fell for Javier Duarte, also 35, after he messaged her on Facebook. He had spotted her working at the prison.
They never met at the jail where he is serving his 15-year prison sentence for homicide before the relationship blossomed online.

Mum-of-one Ferreyra, who worked at Barranqueras prison in Chaco, Argentina, told local media that they met online in November 2022 and quickly hit it off.
Duarte has access to a computer and a mobile phone as he is studying for a degree behind bars.
After their initial Facebook chat, Ferreyra gave the killer her number. This led to a “more intense” relationship developing on WhatsApp, he said.
The relationship was made public when Duarte posted images of the pair on social media.
Alongside a snap of his new flame he wrote: “I love you Andrea. There isn’t a more beautiful and charming woman than you.
“I choose you to be my wife, my partner, and the mother of my children.
“With you until the end, my love.”
The pair made plans to get married but Ferreyra was forced to leave her job last month after being slammed by colleagues for the online fling.
She said: “I resigned because I was not going to be able to be with him while working in the service.
“There were also personal reasons, due to all the things I went through at work.
“The prison authorities discredited everything they could for many months.
“All because he was in a relationship with me where I didn’t even have physical contact with him, ever, since I've known him.
“I am currently looking for a job. I’m also a pharmacy assistant and I paint nails – or I can learn another trade to get by.
“But honestly, I’m waiting for the last five or eight years of my boyfriend’s – future husband’s – prison sentence to be able to live our lives together in peace.”
She revealed they would chat on daily video calls before he suggested they become boyfriend and girlfriend, something the smitten woman was onboard with.
Despite backlash in Argentina the pair are going ahead with plans to get married as soon as possible.
Ferreyra said: “I want to get married on April 4 or whenever they give us the date.
“I am not afraid of anything.
“I know what Javier is like and beyond the crime he committed, I believe in him and I see that he has changed.”
Duarte has a minimum of eight years left to serve.
He has expressed hope that good behaviour may qualify him for probation at the end of this year.
