The Queen’s cause of death is being ‘kept secret’ by Scottish authorities, the Daily Star can reveal.
Repeated requests for a copy of the Queen’s death certificate, which is a matter of public record, have been made to the Scottish Government.
The document would reveal several details including the cause of Her Majesty’s death and where and when she died.
But National Records of Scotland (NRS) – a Scottish Government department – has mysteriously blocked all attempts by media organisations to obtain the certificate.
The Queen passed away at her Balmoral Estate on September 8.

Had the Queen died in England there would be no need to release an official cause of death as the Registration Act of 1836 does not apply to monarchs.
But as she died in Scotland under the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Scotland) Act of 1965, all deaths must be registered within seven days and this includes the submission of a death certificate to a registrar.
However, all inquiries to Aberdeenshire registry office where the Queen’s death would have been registered, have been referred to NRS and it's understood that NRS has ordered council staff not to release any details.

When the Daily Star called NRS, the front desk refused to look on their computer system for Her Majesty’s death certificate and directed us to their press team.
A NRS press officer refused to confirm whether they had the certificate and after several phone calls told the Daily Star on Friday September 16: “No comment will be made during the Royal Mourning period.”
When the Daily Star contacted the NRS on the eve of the Royal Mourning period ending a spokesperson said: “We don’t have any further information to add at this time.”
Following the Royal Mourning period coming to an end, the Daily Star approached Buckingham Palace for comment on why the Queen's death certificate was being withheld.
It's understood they were unaware of the situation.
However, within hours the NRS had issued a fresh statement saying: "As you are aware, NRS has been unable to provide you with an update during the Royal Mourning period.
"We can now confirm the death of Her Majesty The Queen was registered in Aberdeenshire on 16th September and an extract will be made available in due course."
When asked when the certificate would be released and why we would only be getting an extract, the spokesperson for NRS added: "As soon as arrangements are confirmed we will contact you directly."
