Residents have been left terrified after the English town of Leighton Buzzard was rocked by its third earthquake in a month.
The British Geological Survey has confirmed to Daily Star Online the 3.0 magnitude quake took place at a depth of 10km at 8.32am on Tuesday.
It had previously said it was investigating the latest tremors reported by local residents.
People living in the area have taken to social media to share their horror at the latest incident.
One person tweeted: "Home alone and I just got woken up thinking someone was breaking into the house it’s ok tho was just another earthquake in LEIGHTON BUZZARD???"
Another wrote: "Whole house shook. Shorter than September 8 but quite loud."
"Yep felt it to, felt like a jolt to the house more than shaking like the first earthquake," one more wrote.
Leighton Buzzard has already been hit by two earthquakes this month on September 8, which was recorded at a magnitude of 3.5, and September 13, 2.1 magnitude.
Small earthquakes are not uncommon in the UK but are rarely felt in the Bedfordshire area.
