Prince Harry has been slammed by royal staff for exuding "breathtaking arrogance" following his comments about wanting to "protect" the Queen.
The criticism comes after Prince Harry sat down with US News programme Today for an interview during his attendance at the Invictus Games in The Hague, Netherlands.
The Duke of Sussex discussed his life in the US, the royal family and even awkwardly dodged a question about missing his Prince Charles and Prince William.
Speaking of his meeting with his grandmother, Harry said: "It was great. It was really nice to see her in some element of privacy. Being with her it was great, it was just so nice to see her, she's on great form.
"She's always got a great sense of humour with me and I'm just making sure that she's protected and got the right people around her. Both Meghan and I had tea with her, so it was really nice to catch up with her.
"We have a really special relationship, we talk about things that she can't talk about with anybody else."
The comments allegedly rocked the royal family according to Daily Mail's royal source, who said that many felt Harry's delusion knew "no bounds".
Speaking to the Daily Mail, they said: "It is the Queen's birthday and despite a difficult year people are working full steam ahead on making her Platinum Jubilee an event to remember that properly honours such a remarkable woman. She just doesn't deserve this.

"I have no idea what intention he may or may not have had in saying this, but Harry needs to start thinking before he opens his mouth."
Also during the Today interview, Prince Harry awkwardly dodged a question on missing his brother and father.
The Duke of Sussex sat down with Today Show's co-host Hoda Kotb to talk about his life in the US, his secret visit to the Queen and fatherhood.
However, Harry seemed to dodge a question aimed at him about Prince Charles and Prince William, leading to an awkward shift in topic from the Duke.
Hoda Kotb asked Harry: "Your family at home, do you miss them?"
Harry responded: "Yes, especially in the last two years. I think like most people, have they not missed their families, right?"
Representatives for the Duke of Sussex have been contacted for comment.
