An adorable kitten has been compared to the baby Yoda found in the hit Disney Star Wars show The Mandalorian after being rescued from a fire.
The ginger moggie was scooped up by firefighters in California after they found her in the middle of a road near a raging wildfire last week.
She was handed in to the North Valley Animal Disaster Group where she was given a delicate bath after she was rescued while “covered in smoke and ash”.
There is a happy end to the tale as the cat is now getting top level care from dedicated animal experts – and she has a pick of owners who are lined up to adopt her.
The Mirror reports the kitten was christened “baby Yoda” due to the fact her ears stick straight out on either side of her head.
The North Valley Animal Disaster Group shared photos of her via Facebook, showing her being wrapped in a blue towel in one image, and snoozing while wrapped in a second, white towel.
Describing the kitten’s rescue, the organisation wrote: "Over this past weekend, Firefighters rushed this tiny two or three-week-old kitten to the Cal Oak Animal Shelter.

"They found her in the middle of the road on their route, thank goodness!"
They added she is currently "being cared for by a medical foster to receive the special care she needs".
And the kitten had been given medical care and a warm bath.
Meanwhile, North Valley vice president Norm Rosene told CNN: "Baby Yoda will have no problem finding a home."
While it is also hoped the kitten could be reunited with original owners, if there are any.
The rescue group stated: "Who knows, Baby Yoda's parents might be out there looking for her and waiting to get her back."
