UK hit by 3.0 magnitude earthquake near coastline – tremors recorded

A 3.0 magnitude earthquake has struck the English channel.

It was recorded 50km east of Eastbourne in Sussex this morning at around 9.05am.

It occurred at a depth of 7km underground and was registered in Camber Sands (34km away) and Lewes (72km away).

The earthquake was also registered in London (121km away), Sussex Live reports.

One Twitter user from Ifield Wood in Crawley, said: “As if I’m saying I’ve just been woken up by an earthquake again. What is happening?”

The British Geological Survey has received dozens of reports from people disturbed by the quake, according The Argus.
