US vice president Kamala Harris summoned the heads of Google, Microsoft, OpenAI and Anthropic to the White House to discuss their impact.
They were threatened with tighter laws unless they rein in the rapid tech rise.

President Joe Biden dropped in on the meeting to tell chief execs: “What you’re doing has enormous potential and enormous danger. I hope you can educate us as to what you think is most needed to protect society.”
He urged Congress to pass laws setting stricter limits on the tech sector.
