Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived for crunch talks with Joe Biden in the Swiss capital Geneva. A motorcade of 22 vehicles can be seen rolling through the streets as they ferry the Russian premier to talks with his American counterpart. The talks come as tensions have hit a breaking point in recent months following a Russian cyberattack on the USA as well as the threat of an all-out invasion of Ukraine back in April.

Streets were blocked off and pedestrians told to stand back as the Russian careered through the Swiss capital.

Flanked by numerous police cars and motorbikes the convoy sped quickly through the streets.

Heavily armoured, blacked-out vehicles can be seen flanking a number of limousines as they drive through the empty streets.

A massive 22 cars can be seen in the motorcade.

Last week President Biden attended the G7 summit in Cornwall.

Since the weekend he has met with NATO leaders in Europe to discuss threats from Russia and China.

Today will see the two Presidents meet for the first time in Biden’s presidency
