Wanted woman back in handcuffs after commenting on police Facebook post in fury

A woman who has been arrested seven times for driving under the influence (DUI) has been arrested once more thanks to a Facebook comment.

Fugitive Marion Reyes, from Las Vegas, US, commented on an 8 News Now article shared on Facebook appealing for help to locate her.

The 36-year-old woman surrendered to the police’s traffic bureau the day after authorities sent out an alert claiming she had cut off her ankle monitor.

However, in the Facebook comment, Reyes claimed that it was not her who cut it off.

Instead, she alleges that an officer cut it off when she turned herself in before they released her.

The comment reads: “I never cut it off!!! An officer cut it off when I turned myself in. They continued to release me”.

The Las Vegas Traffic Bureau responded with its own comment: “Then why not turn yourself in now? Let’s get this sorted out tonight.”

According to the New York Post, Reyes then seemingly followed the advice and reportedly spoke with an intervention officer on Thursday.

She then turned herself in the following day according to police.

The publication added that a judge ordered Reyes to spend two days in jail for missing a court date in a felony DUI program.

The program was part of her plea deal agreed upon after her October DUI arrest.

She will be sent to prison if she receives another DUI charge, per the plea deal.
