A Florida woman has been arrested after inviting a police officer to join her while she smoked a joint.
According to papers from Sumter County Sheriff's Office, a police officer spotted a woman sitting alone in a car at around 8am on Sunday morning.
The woman, later identified as Wildwood resident Constance Ann Polk, told a sheriff's deputy that she was in possession of cannabis and asked him if he would like to join her in smoking it, according to the police report.
“(Polk) stated that she was in possession of marijuana and asked if I would like to smoke it with her.," the deputy wrote.
"The defendant then opened a bag, which had been sitting on her passenger seat, and produced a small glass container, with no type of labelling on it, containing a green leafy substance,” his arrest report continued.
She invited the officer to smell the “green, leafy” substance. He did so, and in his judgement it smelled like marijuana.
Later checks revealed the substance to be about four gams of marijuana. The suspect also had a pack of rolling papers.
The deputy asked Ms Polk if she had a card entitling her to buy medical marijuana. She told him that she did not have a medical marijuana card, but was very interested in obtaining one.
Polk was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug equipment. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Centre on $200 bond.
