A woman convicted of murder for killing a pregnant woman and cutting her unborn baby from her womb could face the death penalty.
Prosecutors are pushing for the sentence on Taylor Rene Parker, 29, who was found guilty of the gruesome murder of Reagan Micelle Simmons-Hancock, 21, and her infant daughter.
The pair were brutally butchered in their New Boston, United States home in October 2020, a court has heard.

A Texas-based jury deliberated for about an hour before finding Parker guilty of the murder as well as the abduction of her daughter, which later died after being cut from the 21-year-old's womb.
Parker, who faked her own pregnancy for 10 months, is said to have bashed Simmons-Hancock's skull in with a hammer and then proceeded to cut and stab the 21-year-old more than 100 times.
She then removed the unborn baby from her womb using a scalpel, all while Simmons-Hancock's daughter, three, was present at the home.
Parker's defence team moved to argue that the unborn baby had never been alive in an attempt to dismiss the kidnapping charge, which would have lowered the capital murder charge to that of a murder charge.
But prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Parker, whose sentencing will begin on October 12, New York Post reported.

Assistant District Attorney Lauren Richards, leading prosecution, alleged that Parker had crafted an elaborate pregnancy lie which included posting faked ultrasounds to keep her boyfriend from breaking up with her.
Speaking to the jury, Richards said: "In the past two weeks, the evidence has never been more clear. She’s a liar, a manipulator, and now she’s gonna be held accountable for it.
"The pain Reagan must have felt when Taylor started cutting her abdomen, hip to hip … indescribable. When Taylor had the baby and Reagan was still alive, that’s when Taylor started slashing and cutting.
"She can’t leave her alive. It was no quick death. She just kept cutting her. I guess Reagan would not die fast enough for Taylor to get out of there and get on with her plans."
