The Yorkshire Ripper’s younger brother has warned his monster sibling will never confess to any more crimes.
Carl Sutcliffe’s notorious older sibling Peter, 74, is seriously ill with coronavirus in hospital but is refusing to be treated and says he's confident of going to heaven if he does die from the deadly virus.
Peter Sutcliffe was jailed in 1981 for murdering 13 women and trying to murder seven more – and ex-detectives believe he could be responsible for up to 22 further killings.
A number of families remain convinced to this day that Peter was behind their loved ones’ deaths and still hold out hope he will confess – but Carl insists there is little chance of that, Daily Mirror reports.
Carl, who lives in West Yorkshire, said: “I’ve asked him if he killed more and he said no. He says there are no more, He says ‘that’s the lot!’
“He doesn’t seem to realise the damage he’s done. It doesn’t register.
“He stills says ‘It’s not fair’ he’s still in prison. He thinks he’s all fixed now, all better.”
Carl still gets pointed at and said it would be “a bit of a relief” if Peter died.
“It’s been a nightmare,” he said. “I know it is a horrible thing to say because he’s my brother. But there will be sadness too, because he’s my brother at the end of the day.

“We still get pointed at in the street and they whisper ‘that’s the Yorkshire Ripper’s brother’. I can’t hear them but I can still lip read.”
Carl said he does not think it will be Covid-19 that kills his brother.
“He has got other things wrong with him,” he said. “He’s got diabetes, he’s got all sorts. He’s put on a lot of weight. Last picture I saw he looks about 20 stone. I haven’t got a clue how he is now. They wouldn’t tell me. Sonia is his next of kin.”
Carl stopped speaking to the former lorry driver years ago after growing tired of his “self pity”.
Peter was moved to Frankland Prison after more than 30 years in Broadmoor psychiatric hospital, where he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.

He is now almost blind in one eye and suffered a detached retina in the other after being attacked.
Carl said Peter denied being responsible for his crimes. “He would say ‘I didn’t know what I was doing’ and ‘it was the voices in my head’ and all that,” Carl said. “Why would you get yourself alibis if you didn’t know what you were doing?”
Carl has always been convinced his brother faked his mental illness. “Over the years I’ve been in a few times to see Peter in Broadmoor and it’s a horrible place,” he said. “Inside is weird. It’s like every mass murderer you’ve ever heard about just walking about with Peter around the corridors and playing snooker.”
Carl, who is 6ft 4in, said he met his brother’s friend Ronnie Kray and was shocked that he was “little shrivelled up old man”.
He said Peter showed no signs of mental illness during their childhood. However, their brutal father once smashed a pint pot over Peter’s head for sitting in his chair.
“My dad was a drinker,” he said. “He used to belt hell out of us when we were kids.

“I remember when I was about four or five, there was a bit of an argument and he smashed a beer glass into Peter’s head.
“It was at the Christmas dinner table and it was one of those big chunky glasses with dimples in. It was over something and nowt. That really stuck in my mind.”
It has been claimed that the Ripper became twisted after his father caught their mum having an affair and exposed her in front of all their children.
But Carl said: “My dad was a womaniser, he was terrible. She never cheated on him ever in her life.
“But one night she just went out for a drink with a man – probably to get her own back. He found out about it and dragged all the family along.
“He was having it off with a woman across from us when I was a kid. He moved in with her for a bit.

“There’s probably more of us scattered around Bingley. Probably got brothers and sisters all over.”
Carl has no idea why his father was so violent because his grandfather was “always so calm”.
As for Peter’s own violence, he is equally confused, although he did once drop him from a bedroom window for being “cheeky”.
“He was great with me normally,” he said. “He was a brilliant brother. He’d buy me presents, take me to the pictures and the skating rink.
“But I do remember there was one time when he held me by the feet out of the bedroom window. I thought ‘he’s not going to drop me’. But he did, on my head. I had a twisted neck and I had a real sore neck for weeks.”
He said Peter moved out after meeting Sonia Szuma in a Bradford pub and they married on August 10, 1974. They lived in the Heaton area of the city but could not have children.
“He used to love kids and he would have been a good dad but it was never to be,” Carl said.
Carl was 21 and looking for jobs in the local library when he found out from a newspaper that his brother was the Yorkshire Ripper.
“I was shocked,” he said. “I looked over this lad’s shoulder who was reading the paper and there was a picture of my brother’s house. It said they had caught the Ripper and there was his house. I thought ‘bloody hell, that’s our Peter’s house’.
“We talked about the Ripper with my brother all the time. Bloody hell, he used to take my girlfriend home.
“We would go out with me and my girlfriend with Peter and his wife and he would run us home and then drop her off. He wouldn’t have done nowt to her, but it was weird.”
Their mother Kathleen died of a heart attack three years before Peter was caught. Carl said their father, John, died in 2004 aged 81.
He added he never believed that his son was responsible for all the murders he was convicted of.
